KID NOSTALGIA by SUNG JIN PARK

Sung Jin Park viajó a Corea y decidió fotografiar a adolescentes rebeldes que deambulaban por las calles de Seúl, escapándose de clase. Le interesaron porque le pareció que eran los únicos que conservaban un espíritu vivo e independiente en la sociedad Coreana “the kids who were the only ones that seemed exciting and alive in this city. There was a certain antisocial energy in their look and attitude, [...] But what I wanted to do was capture their charisma—something you can’t manufacture.”

Esa rebeldía y libertad también le parece un tanto ingenua, pero es esa ingenuidad lo que busca con su objetivo “I had found something rather pure and naïve in their rebellion and immaturity,[...]The way they reveal themselves as they roam around the periphery of the school system is so raw that there’s an ironic beauty to it.”

Y estas fotos gustan, nos recuerdan a nuestra etapa adolescente, a algunos compañeros de clase que en algunos casos, por su carisma y rebeldía, podían ser fascinantes.

Se ha publicado un libro con todas las fotos del proyecto.
